Politics…. It used to be a noble profession. Now, with lobbying, big (huge) money necessary to mount what we now call a campaign is nothing short of frightening.
In the land of the free and home of the brave, it requires you to essentially give up your soul for the appearance of “fighting for freedom” in Washington. The being brave part? Well, what we call bravery in Washington anymore is really nothing short of mockery. Bravery is our men and women in uniform fighting for our freedom. I’d like our politicians to remember it’s ok to “stick to your guns” on principal. Just remember who’s pointing a gun at our kids overseas!
Congressman Rangel is still running for office while he’s fighting ethics charges. Our politicians still play games with peoples lives while they dine with lobbyists from K street to ensure their easy street way of life.
Yes, politics used to be a noble profession. Now, it’s a profession of shirking the responsibility to do what’s right for the country. It’s about not working with the party of opposition but working to undermine them.
Tell me, why is lobbying still legal in this country?
